Heritage,
not hate
A
message from Sandra Simmons in association with the YMCA
IN
AN effort to do our part in fostering peace, unity, honour, self-respect
and respect for others in our country at this time, through reflection
on our Heritage, we have coined the phrase "Heritage, not Hate".
This
message has been printed on T-shirts. It is our hope that by wearing
these shirts, especially on Peace Day, March 5, the message of "Heritage,
not Hate" will be a constant reminder to all of us who wear the
shirts and/or read the message on the shirts of the love, care and
respect shown and shared among all our fore-parents in the good
old days, and also as a reminder to us that our children's golden
age should not be spent in remembering epic dramas of Trams, first
automobiles, Rediffusion and fun and frolic on King Street Christmas
Night.
Let
us use this time to foster peace, unity, trust and respect -- to
earn our position in this world. We must span the chasm that divides
us by understanding the branches of our interwoven
history.
We
can be anything we want to be -- we are unlimited in our
potential. It all revolves around how conscious we are of our origin
and realising how far we may have to go. As the Queen of England
in her address to our Parliament said "It is right to protect this
Heritage that has served you so well."
Profit
from the sale of the shirts will go to the YMCA to assist with the
Street Boys Programme.
The
shirts printed in one colour with your company's logo on the back
are available for $300 plus General Consumption Tax (GCT).
We
look forward to your kind support.
Yours truly
Sandra Simmons
